The Matchmakers

The Matchmakers (Famous Firsts)Debbie Macomber
Contemporary Romance

"If someone saw you with your hair sticking out like that, I might never get a new dad."

Dori Robertson is a single mom and is content with that.  Her 11-year-old son, however, is not.  Danny is convinced that it's time for his mother to remarry and give him a dad again.  And who better than ex-football player Gavin Parker?  He even has a daughter who's not too bad - for a girl - and has the same idea of getting her father remarried.  Dori and Gavin, however, have different ideas but agree to pretend to date to calm their over enthusiastic children. But what happens when things start to get all too real?

My Opinion: I had this author recommended to me and thought I should go back and try one of her early books.  I must say that I was surprised how much I really enjoyed this book.  I don't read too many contemporary romances, but this one was really fun.  The characters were humorous, especially the kids.  The situations were well played out.  I'll admit that I wished it was longer (it's only about 150 pages) but I probably would have finished it in one sitting no matter its length.

  3. Sounds like a good romance novel, I have never read any of Macomber's books so I'll definitely be more apt to pick one up after this review. http://bookworms-are-cool.blogspot.com
