"Mental note to self, never drink again."
Zanna is a spirit guide. She is supposed to keep her charge on track with the way their life is supposed to go. She is not supposed to interfere and never change it. But unfortunately, she fell in love with her charge - Owen - and he's supposed to die. Can she really stand by and do nothing while the only man she's loved in two thousand years dies? But if she saves him, what kind of consequences would face the rest of mankind?
My Opinion: This book was fast-paced and very complex. I understand what the author was going for and it is a good idea for a plot, but there was never enough time to get into anything. There was too much background and information to get across, that the story got swallowed up. I would have liked to see more description, action, thought process, etc. There was no personal growth on anyone's part and the setting of spirit guides, lycans and sentinels was so complicated that you got lost. I would love this book to have had another 100 pages to fill out the setting, story and characters. Like I said, good plot and idea - just didn't take the time to really tell the story it could be.
I received a free copy of this book for review. No other compensation was given. The summary and opinion are 100% my own.
