New Year, New Love

New Year, New Love (Harlequin Heartwarming)Sherry Lewis
Contemporary Romance

"Good idea.  Let's set Mom ups with the fake president of the United States from the Nineties."

After Sharon spends another New Year's Eve alone, Emilee and Christa are determined to find their mom a husband.  Sharon has no intention of dating again after her smothering marriage, but Sharon has no idea what her daughters are doing and soon their antics start to worry her.  But she is distracted by the sexy man hired to fix up her basement.  Gabe, though attracted to his new client, has no intention of getting involved with another woman.  But despite all his plans, he finds himself jealous of the men her daughters are setting her up with.  Perhaps they just might take a chance on each other and find something neither of them thought was out there - love.

My Opinion: This was a nice, though slower paced book with a cute story.  There is great parent-child interaction.  Both between the main couple and their kids as well as their own parents.  Emilee and Christa were great teenage characters that reminded me of being one myself.  I couldn't relate too well with Sharon - she seemed a little bit too much of a feminist but that was probably a result of her failed marriage.  Gabe was a good character and very likable.  There seemed to be a couple of places where something was mentioned and never followed up on, but overall it was a nice read.

I received a free copy of this book for review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and opinion are 100% my own.
