Cara Lynn Schultz
Paranormal Romance
Young Adult Romance

"It was like hanging out with a bunch of vegetarians and wearing a bacon necklace."

All Emma wants is to fade into the background at her new school.  But that becomes impossible when she seems to attract attention everywhere she turns.  But not all the attention seems to be bad - especially when it's coming from the incredibly attractive Brendan.  But strange things start to happen around Emma and she begins to wonder if everything might be connected - warning her about something.  But what could it be and does she really want to avoid it if it means avoiding Brendan too?

My Opinion: Fun and enthralling, this book keep you turning the pages.  The characters were very flushed out and enjoyable.  Their interactions are great and it really pulls you into their world.  I really enjoyed Emma as a character who was open to new ideas and had a great sense of  humor.  The witty prose throughout kept me laughing.  Brendan was much more flushed out than you often get from the opposite role in a first-person story.  Their story was believable despite the paranormal twists.  It didn't go off the deep end but kept things just on the edge of normal.  The side characters were well written and executed.  I loved this book and would highly recommend it.

NOTE: I read an advanced copy.  This books comes out for sale June 28, 2011.

I received a free advanced review copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.

  1. I am going to check spellbound out. Sounds like a fun read. I love the premise of your blog! I too enjoy romance stories but cannot stand the raunchy-ness that I get out of some of the books. Now I don't have to jump blindly into a book that I won't finish. Thank you for your work! I am a new follower. :)

  2. Thanks! That was my intent - to give people ideas of clean romances that they don't have to be wary of starting because they already know it's going to stay clean. I hope you like this one!

  3. Thank you for sharing, I would love to read Spellbound.
