A Family For Christmas
"But life had a way of sending one scrambling for Plan B."
Jaclyn Wentworth is finally on her own. After a long and nasty divorce, she is on her own with three kids. Her ex was her high school sweetheart, the homecoming king....and a man who never grew up and out of his father's shadow. Now Jaclyn needs to look to her own future in the business world. Not a happy view when she gets fired from her waitressing job. Cole Perrini has no good memories from the high school, except maybe Jackie. Perhaps he can help her out, then leave it at that. He doesn't have to be sucked back to a place with so many bad memories, does he? But he may finds his attraction to Jaclyn will overcome his reluctance to re-visit his past. But will they find a way to have a future, or will their pasts keep them apart?
My Opinion: This was a pretty good book. I enjoyed the romance between Jaclyn and Cole - their struggles and attraction. Cole was a good, rounded character who is a believable white knight. Jaclyn is realistic and strong despite her past. The side characters of the kids, brothers and ex-husband are all well written and fill out the story, really pulling you into the book's world. It was an interesting situation dealing with the real sticky situations that can come from divorce and finding love again. Real life isn't so cut and dry and the book really pulls you into it and makes you feel what everyone is feeling - which is amazing. Good read, though there isn't much about Christmas in it. Ah well, you can't have it all. ;)
I was given a free copy of this book to review. No other compensation was given. The summary and review are 100% my own.
