Donna B Snow
" She didn’t need any more unexpected surprises like that"
Margaret is running from the past. Her husband's death haunts her in their old house. She leaves, trying to start over in a new town with a new job. But Lukas won't let her get away that easy. He lost her once, years ago, but won't let that happen again. He is determined to help her through her grief and to win her heart once again. But can Margaret trust him when he broke her heart all those years ago? And can she overcome the guilt she feels over her marriage? Could God really be leading her towards happiness?
My Opinion: This was a short read that didn't seem to have a lot of problems to it. There was very little to overcome that didn't seem to have been overcome before the book started. The past was done and they had both seemed to have moved on from it. Their love was sweet, but undeveloped since they had been in love before and didn't seem to have stopped. There was a lot of vague reference to religious feelings and conversion but nothing in the actual events to bring them on or force the characters to grow. It seemed to be more of a diary of feelings and events rather than a richly formed book.
I received a free copy of this book to review. No other compensation was given. The summary and review are 100% my own.
