Tangled Hearts: an LDS Novel

"He might make a habit of rescuing damsels in distress, but I doubted if any damsel he‟d ever met had stayed in distress once he rescued her."

Serra Lanning hasn't spoken to her sister Brooke in four years.  She's been busy being an international model and Brooke didn't even invite her to Brooke's wedding.  So when Brooke shows up out of no where asking Serra to babysit her son Matthew, Serra is floored.  Brooke is scared to leave the boy with her in-laws so Serra accepts.  But tragedy strikes with Brooke's death and Serra is left to protect Matthew.  Violent attacks ensue, leaving Serra rattled.  When a handsome stranger comes along and offers to help, Serra jumps at the chance - and just might find he's more than her rescuer.

My Opinion: This was actually a really fun read.  Serra was fun and quirky.  Alec is definitely the knight in shining armor - too good to be true.  They are cute together and their romance is sweet but slow.  The action was good at the beginning of the book, though it tapered off about halfway through and was a little dry until the very end.  Still a good book, just seemed to switch gears part-way through.  The little boy, Matthew, is cute and probably the best behaved two-year-old in history.  Overall it's a good, fun read.  As the cover indicates, it is an LDS novel, but it is not preachy like some Christian novels can be.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
