Sanctuary Point Series, Book 1
""I'd offer my skinned palm to shake your burned one, but that wouldn't work."
Sanctuary Point is a sleepy little town, especially since the war has taken most of the men away. That is, until there is a fire...and a murder. Erica doesn't know what to think now that her friend Ada is dead and is even more confused when she finds out that the fire was set on purpose. Who would do such a thing? It was a good thing Lorne had happened to be driving by or else she might have died as well. But who is Lorne and why does she feel so good around him? But perhaps they both need to come to grips with their lives and their relationships with God. Because how can they act on their growing feelings for each other if they don't get their pasts in order first? And that includes finding a dangerous murderer before someone blames them for it!
My Opinion: This novel does a great job pulling you into its world and wrapping you up in its mystery. Exciting and tense, you get absorbed into the story, trying to unravel the mystery before it's too late. The characters were colorful and warm. Erica is a strong, budding young woman in an age where women are dealing with a world with few men. Lorne is a tarnished war veteran, unsure of his worth and his place. Together they fall sweetly in love. Their interaction was wonderful as were the other characters in the town. Everything was well researched and you felt like you really had traveled back in time to this little town suffering the effects of the war. The Christian angle was apparent but not overwhelming - well written. This is one I would recommend.
I received a free copy of this book to review. No other compensation was given. The summary and review are 100% my own.
