Book 2 in the Bloodstone Saga
Every Last Kiss, Fated, With My Last Breath, My Tattered Bonds
"I had a terrifying feeling that my life this time around was really going to suck."
Macy's life is going pretty well this time around, until now. After centuries of being reincarnated in order to fulfill her role for the Fates, something seems different this time. The rules seem to be changing and suddenly, nothing is what it seemed. It seems that the Fates have been lying to her. But why? Why has she really been forced to re-live these tragic lives? And once she finds out the truth, will she be able to do anything about it? How does one fight against fate? And if they can find a way to restore order, what will be the cost?
My Opinion: This was an interesting book and took me by surprise. The storyline took some pretty drastic turns from the first book, changing much of the premise. Therefore there was a lot of information thrown at you to switch directions a bit. Nevertheless, it stayed a pretty exciting book. The love between the two main characters was still sweet and strong. Macy is still a quirky character though she is a serious character. Gavin is very much the strong silent type, but he's still a good male counterpart. The action and emotions were good, though it was a little run down by information and additional characters. As much as some Egyptian history would help out with the last book, a healthy dose of Greek mythology will help you with this one.
I was given a free copy of this book to review. No other compensation was given. The summary and review are 100% my own.
