Operation: Christmas Hearts
"I'm convinced the automatic transmission was invested by men who were frustrated by stick shifts when they wanted to make out."
Ashley has sworn she'll never be the girl waiting at home - a distraction to a soldier. Thus she has instilled a three date rule. But when Nick blew into her life last summer, he bent all the rules and weakened her resolve. Now that he has been deployed, she'll need a miracle to survive the long and lonely holiday without him. Nick fell in love with Ashley, but had a hard time convincing her that he wanted more than just three dates. Now that they are apart, he can't wait until he can get home to finish convincing her. But a dangerous mission might take him farther from her than he thought. He'll need his own miracle to survive and return home. Can love survive it all, or do miracles not really exist?
My Opinion: Yet another wonderful book from this author, this is a delightful series with new characters and a few oldie but goodies. Skillfully written, the author pulls you along through the present and through memories to piece together a sweet romance and the heartbreak of waiting for a soldier to come home. Ashley is a wonderful character, realistic and easy to connect with. Nick is a great character who is both a wonderful soldier and a wonderful man. The inclusion of Trish, Dan and Bella were great since I already knew and loved them from the first book. Add in a little bit of Christmas magic and you have a wonderful story. I would definitely recommend this one!
