The Seduction of Sebastian St James
Rachel Van Dyken
Renwick House Series, Book 2
"Your grace, words cannot even begin to describe how interesting I feel the next couple of weeks will be."
Emma has no intention of marrying after a horrible experience several years ago, but her parents insist she go to London. Staying with her cousin, she intends to find a man she can stand, and who will accept her tarnished past. But she doesn't expect Sebastian St James, Duke of Tempest to be staying there as well. Or that he is looking to marry as well. Not that he'd marry her - he values his reputation too much for that. But perhaps they can work together - find a spouse for each other! But things get complicated when they start having a hard time imagining the other with anyone else. And what could happen if Emma's past comes to light?
My Opinion: This book had a cute idea behind it and I was excited about it. Apparently, it's the second in a series and I got the feeling that maybe I was missing quite a bit by not reading the first one. Overall there was an exciting and fast moving plot, though perhaps sometimes a little too fast. The characters go so swiftly through everything that it got hard to get to know them. It was a bit stilted and confusing to transition from scene to scene as the story progressed. The romance was good, though at one point a little more hot and heavy than normal. They were cute characters that went well with each other. Although detail and grammatical mistakes were distracting, the book has potential.
I received a free copy of this book to review. No other compensation was given. The summary and review are 100% my own.
