Catch Your Breath

Kathryn J Bain
Contemporary Romance
Book 2 of Series
Breathless, Catch Your Breath

"There was only one explanation.  Hormones."

Calley just wants to go to her cousin's bridal shower and make an excuse to skip the wedding.  She loves her cousin, but Calley doesn't think she, her preacher fiance, or the rest of her strict Christian family would appreciate her showing up at the wedding eight months pregnant.  Especially when the father is married to someone else.  The interference of the incredibly handsome local sheriff, Riley Owens, doesn't help matters.  That is, until her situation suddenly turns sinister. Riley doesn't understand why he is drawn to this spunky woman, but he can't resist.  When her life is put in danger, his protective instincts come in full force.  And perhaps, not just because he is the local sheriff.

My Opinion: This was a fun and exciting read that you won't want to put down.  Bain creates a fun web of characters for her story to involve and fills it with suspense and romance.  Although it is obviously a sequel and refers a bit to characters and events from the first book, I didn't feel lost as I read it without having read the first.  Calley was a sweet and independent girl with a sense of humor that can't be quenched. Riley is a noble and strong man with few faults.  Perhaps overly perfect, but he's a good character anyway.  The romance is sweet and fun and makes you smile.  The action and suspense brought some fun plot twists and made the story fun and exciting.  Definitely one to recommend.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
