Blog Tour: The Reluctant Bachelorette

Today I am happy to host a stop on a blog tour for what looks to be a wonderfully fun new novel.  Here's a bit about the book, then we'll get to know the author a bit.  And there is a wonderful giveaway at the end of this post, so don't miss out!  (The giveaway is not run by me, but by the tour.)

The Reluctant Bachelorette by Rachael Anderson
Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it's up to the viewers--not her--to decide which bachelors stay or go.

Coerced into participating, Taycee does what any self-preserving girl would do. She launches a subtle attack on Luke’s good name with the hope of getting him voted off the show. Unfortunately, Luke's an eye-for-an-eye kind of guy, and when he discovers what she's up to, it means revenge.

But when their pranks go south, will they screw up any chance they have at a future together, or will they be able to forgive and forget and prove that love really does conquer all?

About the Author:
Rachael Anderson is the author of four contemporary romances: Divinely Designed, Luck of the Draw, Minor Adjustments, and The Reluctant Bachelorette. She's the mother of four, can't sing, doesn't dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.

Now, on to the interview!

Say your publisher has offered to fly you anywhere in the world to do research on an upcoming book, where would you most likely want to go?
Right now, New Zealand tops my travel wish list. From what I've read, heard, and seen, it's a gorgeous country inhabited by wonderful people and would make a really cool setting for a story. And I've always been a sucker for that type of accent.

What is one silly fact about you?
I hate unloading the dishwasher, but I don't mind loading it. Go figure.
What got you started on your writing journey?
Reading. There was a time in my life where I was a voracious reader, back when I had more time. I loved getting caught up in a story, but it was always difficult to find my favorite types of books. So one day, I made the decision to write my own. I really had no idea what I was getting myself into, but six years later I finally finished it, somehow found a publisher, and here I am.

Why do you choose to write clean/sweet romance?  Do you write steamy romance as well?
I choose to keep my writing clean because those are the types of books I love to read and I wish there were more of them out there. And no, I don't write steamy and never will. It makes me cringe just thinking about it.

What other things do you have planned with your writing for the rest of the year 2012?
To finish up this a Christmas story I'm working on, and then take a much needed break. I love to write, but for me there can be too much of a good thing. I need a few months off to regroup.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a writer?
When readers write me saying that something in one of my books has made some sort of positive impact on their life. Even if it's something simple like bightening thier day.

How many books have you written, and how many of those have been published?
I have three other published books, a novella for a compilation book that will hopefully be out by the end of the month, and a YA paranormal romance (the first in a planned series of 3) that is finished, but in need of tweaking. It's different than anything I've written before, but I love it and hope I can get it to the point where I feel like its ready.

Please share about your book
The Reluctant Bachelorette is a fun story about a girl who's been unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town's charity event. Throw in an old teenage crush, and her happy, comfortable world is soon turned upside down.

If you could sum your main character into five words, what would they be?
Vulnerable, smart, kind, slightly sarcastic, and human.
