Georgie on His Mind

Jennifer Shirk
Contemporary Romance

"He looked about to laugh, but thought better of it.  The first intelligent thing she'd seen him do since she moved back home."

Georgie Mayer has a problem in the form of her over-protective brother.  He seems to be ruining all of her dates lately.  So, what's a girl to do, other than try to get him to have his own life so he'll stay out of hers.  Life gets more complicated when her brother's best friend, Walt Somers, comes to town.  Now it's as if she has two older brothers interfering with her life.  Though, to be honest, she wouldn't mind it if Walt were a little less brotherly.  Walt hasn't thought of his best friend's sister in years, and certainly doesn't expect to be attracted to her when he comes back to town.  Asked to watch out for Georgie, Walt starts to wonder if she is in more danger from dubious boyfriends, or from himself.

My Opinion: This was yet another wonderful story from Shirk and I absolutely enjoyed it.  A great feel-good story that made me smile and laugh.  Georgie was sweet and funny and I commiserated with her.  Walt was a good, strong character with realistic feelings and internal conflict.  I loved their story together - very sweet romance with good realism that draws you in.  I got some good toe-curling from this one.  A few good side characters filled in the story and left it open for a sequel.  I would definitely recommend this one, just as I would anything else I have read by this author.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
