Book Tour: Crazy for Cowboy

She’s through with cowboys. But this one’s the ‘reel’ deal.

Equine veterinarian, Emily Grant, has had her share of cowboys, and they always break her
heart. After vowing to give them up forever, Brandon Hollister strides into her life.

He’s a different kind of cowboy, one that works on the silver screen. But is he just playing
the part when it comes to love? Or can this sexy hunk get past a case of mistaken identity
to become the man to win Emily’s heart.

Let's meet the author, Roxy Boroughs....

Give us a bit of your background (where are you from, your family, traveling adventures).

I’m from Canada. I was born in Ontario, lived on Vancouver Island for a few years, now I’m in Calgary, Alberta. I joke that I moved out west and am slowly making my way back east. I studied theater at university, and met the man of my dreams there. We’re still honeymooning after 34 years.

I’ve acted on the stage, on TV and in a few movies. I started writing plays then moved onto novels.

As far as traveling in Canada goes, I’ve been pretty much everywhere—except for the Yukon, Nunavut, and Prince Edward Island. In the US, I’ve been to Washington State, Colorado, through northern Montana, all around Florida, and up the eastern states to Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New York.

And I’ve been to Scotland, too.

What is one silly fact about you?

I snore. Drives my husband nuts. Not such a honeymoon for him on those noisy nights.

Why do you choose to write clean/sweet romance? Do you write steamy romance as well?

For me, the sensuality level is determined by the characters and the storyline. My book CRAZY FOR COWBOY is sweeter because it’s based on the comic premise of mistaken identity. The heroine thinks the hero is a cowboy, when actually he’s an actor in a western movie. For him to sleep with the heroine under those false pretenses wouldn’t be heroic.

My romantic suspense titles, A STRANGER’S TOUCH and A STRANGER’S KISS are edgy, more sensual. Definitely steamy romance happening there.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a writer?

Hearing from my readers. That is absolutely, hands down the best things about being a writer for me. (And working in my PJs.)

Do you have a favorite comment or question from a reader?

I have so many and truly appreciate them all. But here’s one I received from Sweet “Mama” on Amazon for CRAZY FOR COWBOY. It always makes me smile.

“It was just a sweet, funny, & a wholesome love story. You have Emily who is a lady veterinarian & Brandon who is an actor posing as a cowboy. At first he does it as a gag just to meet her & also gives her the false name of Houston. The next day he runs into her again purely by accident & allows the lie to spin out of control as well as their attraction for one another. Can he fix it & tell the truth when he hears from others that she really loves cowboys. Does he truly want to? The craziness that follows is worth the read. It is fun. It is clean. & It is real. The characters are well developed as well as the storyline. Enjoy!”

Please share about your book.

Sweet “Mama” said it all for me. I don’t know whose Sweet Mama she is, but she’s definitely a sweetie as far as I’m concerned. Thanks, Sweet “Mama.”

Do you have a favorite character you have written so far?

Two of my favorite characters in CRAZY FOR COWBOY, other than the hero and heroine, are Brandon’s sister and her son Liam. He’s five and was a blast to write. I liked them so much, the pair is featured in a short story anthology I put together with my buddy Brenda M. Collins called STORIES OF CHANCE ROMANCE, the proceeds of which go to support Breast Cancer research. STORIES OF CHANCE ROMANCE is available here http://amzn.com/B009J2KCLM.

  2. Hi, MK. Scotland was fantastic. I went there during university with a company of actors and appeared in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. My boyfriend (now my husband) went, too. We saw plays, concerts, an opera, climbed Arthur's Seat, and toured Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace (which is where Queen Elizabeth stays, when she's in town).

Glad you enjoyed Liam. He totally appeals to my inner child.

  3. Not all romance stories have to be erotic and/or steamy. Sometime we just want some good, clean, wholesome romance. This book sounds fantastic. Can't wait to read it.

  4. I missed out on the fun festivities of Edinburgh since I spent the full holiday in the Highlands, but some of those things are certainly on my list for next time.
