Regency Romance
Book 8 of Series
Honor, Betrayal, Deception, Temptation, Intrigue, Spellbound, Flawless, Heartless, Redemption, Retribution

"But Mr. Grimsby looked more terrified than amused so he decided that he bespectacled gentleman was not lying."

Leandra Harcourt doesn't have a lot of options since the death of her father.  So when a man she just met proposes to her, she accepts.  How bad can it be?  But Leandra doesn't realize she's just agreed to marry "The Heartless Duke".  Can Leandra make something of this farce of a marriage, or is Derringer the kind of man that can't open his heart any more than he can make time for his new bride?  Derringer has found a solution to his inheritance problem - an instant bride before his thirtieth birthday.  Though with a missing cousin and other concerns on his mind, there is no time for a simpering bride.  He can't afford to be distracted by her, but he may find that he can't afford to lose her either.

My Opinion: I thought that this was an interesting read with a sweet romance.  Leandra and Derringer have a fun relationship that grows and develops as they get to know each other and their respective pasts.  A little steamier than my usual reads, it was still a good romance.  This book was obviously in the middle of the series and not having read the earlier books, I felt a bit lost with various side characters whom I had never met before.  I would recommend going back and reading the books in order to get a better background.  Nevertheless, they were fun characters that nicely filled in the story and came across with a fun story that I enjoyed even though I would have liked a little more richness.  Overall, a good read.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
