"He made me laugh, and that right now was worth a thousand other guys."

Amanda has regretted nothing more than letting her friends convince her to turn down Greg three years ago.  Now he's back in town.  Only this time, instead of a gawky, nerdy kid; he's tall, handsome and rich - and has her friend's approval.  But Amanda doesn't care about that anymore - she still loves Greg.  However, he wants nothing to do with the girl who rejected him all those years ago.  Forced to watch him date her friends, Amanda resigns herself to having lost the only boy who ever loved her.  But as life and their friends throw them back together, will they each be able to stand by and let the other go again?  Or will Greg give Amanda a second chance?

My Opinion: Yet another fabulous book in this Jane Austen series.  I must say, that though I hadn't read the original, it was still a great read.  With a quick review on Persuasion, I found the correlations and thoroughly enjoyed them.  James has created a fun cast to reflect the originals and their interplay is well done.  This story is sweet, heartwrenching and emotional.  I loved the romance and how heart-achingly sweet it is.  It made me giddy and almost as anxious as the characters were for their first kiss.  Though there are a lot of side characters, it's not confusing, but rather feels like their small world is filled in.  I would definitely recommend this one.  A great addition to a the series.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
