The Yielding

Tamara Leigh
Medieval Romance
Book 2 of Age of Faith Series
The Unveiling, The Yielding, The Redeeming (coming May 2013)

"Revenge by a lesser name was still revenge, especially where unwarranted."

Lady Beatrix Wulfrith has never aspired to beauty or romance - in fact, she only aspires to join a convent.  But when the king decrees her younger sister be married to their family's enemy, she is willing to anything to help her escape.  But that fateful attempt, while saving her sister, could prove her downfall when ruthless knights catch her while in pursuit.  Lady Beatrix Wulfrith doesn't remember what happened before she was injured.  How did she end up alone, with a dead knight beside her and a bloody knife in her hand?  She didn't kill the man, did she?  Lord Michael D'Arci, the knight's brother, believes she does and is determined to have justice.  No matter than she looks like an angel, or that the blow to her head has left her with little control of her speech.  He will see that justice is done.  Even if he has to exact it himself.

My Opinion: This is another wonderful addition to the many great books by Leigh that I have read.  Continuing with the Wulfrith family, we get a glimpse at more of its characters and dive into another wonderful story.  The characters were great, being realistic and engaging.  Beatrix and Michael's romance is fun and sweet and slow and enticing.  I loved the way they both grew and changed together.  Their interactions and romance was enthralling.  The story was exciting and kept the whole thing wrapped nicely together.  There was continuation from the previous book (though reading it first isn't necessary) and provides a great build up for the next book and leaves me anxious to find out what happens with the next set of characters.  A fabulous book and a great series.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
