A Beastly Scandal

"And she felt utterly deprived at the foiled touch of his lips."

Lady Annabelle Marchant is determined to help a widow cleanse her house of an evil spirit.  Especially after failing to use her special abilities to save the woman's husband.  In fact, her failure had resulted in staining her own reputation as well.  Which is why Annabelle may have a problem getting past Lord Rufus Marlesbury, the woman's son, who has no time for a distraction like Annabelle and her spirits.  In fact, Rufus has a matter of weeks to find his father's murderer or face charges of the act himself.  But how to figure out who had killed his father, whom he hadn't been very close to, with such a bewitching woman under his nose?  Can Annabelle see beneath his beastly exterior in order to help him to open himself up to love, and her unique way to help?

My Opinion: Romance, mystery and ghosts....what more could you ask for?  This book was a wonderful weaving of romance with a trip through the paranormal to solve a crime that threatens the main characters.  There were lovely twists in the plot and the story developed in a way to keep you guessing and anxious to turn the next page.  The romance was sweet and fun and truly enjoyable.  Lovely side characters filled the story in nicely.  Hopefully there will be another spin-off book to keep with with them at a later date.  Though a bit slow to really understand the entirety of Annabelle's abilities, but it was a good foray into adventure and intrigue...and of course, romance.  Definitely recommend this one.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
