Today we are happy to present you author Rebecca Graf and her work DEEP CONNECTIONS, a thrilling Paranormal Romance.
Just as love appears, so does the darkness. With her heart reaching out for one man, Brenna finds herself the target of an unknown stalker. Who is he? What does he want? How far will he go for her? Death is an option. Brenna discovers more than she bargained for and learns that the stalker will kill for her. It all comes down to decisions, and no matter what she chooses it will demand sacrifice and someone's blood.
PRAISE FOR "DEEP CONNECTIONS":
"Deep Connection is a unique thriller that will keep you guessing until the end. Who is stalking Brenna and why? As the layers of mystery unfold, you will be pulled into the twists and turns Ms. Graf has so wonderfully written. Wrapped around the mystery is a love triangle between Brenna, the cute sheriff's deputy and the handsome Native American lawyer. Who will win her heart and save her from the evil stalking her? Read the book and find out. I had a hard time putting this one down. I am waiting for the sequel as I am sure it will also be a fantastic read." - Marianne Spitzer
Fill in the blank favorites - Type of hero. Type of heroine. For the hero, I like the strong kind that can be a little forceful yet be very tender. I like it better when his tenderness scares him. For the heroine, I like one that is unsure of herself. She finds strength in battling and loving the hero. What is your favorite genre to read? This depends completely on my mood. I have to be in the mood to read any book. Then there are the days that I want to shut the world out and just read. Why do you choose to write clean/sweet romance? Do you write steamy romance as well? For one thing, I think a romance can be passionate and sensual without graphic detail. I love a romance that has the passion but the story is restrained. That lingers with me. I think back on the passion instead of the physical scene. That gets my heart racing. I don’t write steamy romances, but I have read many. Some are great, but most times I skip over the graphic scenes. What other things do you have planned with your writing for the rest of the year 2013? I am hoping to get the two sequels out for Deep Connections: Dark Connections and Deadly Connections. I have a horror novella coming out which is odd for me as I hate horror. I also have a few instruction manuals being released such as How to Write a Book Review. How much of your personality and life experiences are in your writing? Quite a bit actually. Let me correct that. More of my personality than my life experiences. I have never been in love with a shapeshifter or been stalked, but a lot of me can be found in Brenna. I have had a couple of reviewers not like her because she was too naïve or hesitant about things. I laughed because how she reacted would have been how I reacted. I modeled her after me in that regard. Where do your ideas come from? Oh, they come from many places. Most come from dreams. I have never been one to fall asleep easily. So, in order to go to sleep, I began ‘dreaming’ of stories. I’ve been doing this since I was a small child. Many of my stories come from that. One idea came from a statement I made in an article I was writing. I said it as a joke, but the light bulb came on about how it could be so much more. My daughter has even helped me with story ideas. She is great about giving them to me. Just yesterday she was relating some of the high school drama she was experiencing, and an idea hit me. What are the elements of a great romance for you? In books, I think it involves a lot of conflict. I don’t like it when they fall in love too easily. They need to struggle with it which usually helps them grow. I like it when they have flaws yet still love each other. Please share about your book Deep Connections is about a young woman who finds herself falling in love with a friend. She also discovers that she is being stalked by someone or something that will have her no matter what the costs. If that isn’t complicated enough, she has a man who she has been seeing casually suddenly pushing matters while discovering that her best friends are shapeshifters. All this is going on while her life is on the line. If you could sum your main character into five words, what would they be? Undiscovered, unique, uncertain, untapped, determined What are your hero and heroine of the story like? Brenna is a woman who has learned to stand on her own two feet but when it comes to matters of the heart she is very inexperienced and timid. She likes things to be simple but finds out that life is not simple nor ever will be. Slaton is a man who is confident in everything except how to win Brenna’s heart. He has his own heritage to deal with and explain to her. At times, he loves her too much. He tends to be overprotective and not allowing her to make her own decisions which gets Brenna very angry. Do you have a favorite character you have written so far? Slaton’s mother, Tahnee, is my favorite. She is very wise and calm. She rarely gets excited about anything and faces life head on. She really develops in the later books. She is someone I’d love to be like. I want to be able to look at situations calmly and rationally while loving wholeheartedly.
