Ineligible Bachelor

Kathryn Quick
Contemporary Romance

"Carpe diem.  Smart, those ancient Romans and their Latin wisdom."

Fredericka "Freddy" has a plan to finally get noticed by lifetime friend, Logan.  Set him up for a reality dating show, then console him when he wasn't picked.  The only problem - he was picked.  And not only that, part of the show requires her to be there too - helping him pick out his dream date.  Now, Freddy has to stand by as Logan goes on dates with various girls hand-picked for him - all while making good tv.  All Freddy wanted was to be the one Logan finally finds.  Logan can't believe Freddy would set him up like this, but perhaps it won't all come to naught.  At least they get to spend some time together through this whole thing.  A fact that lately is having more and more appeal.  But she signed him up for this show - so there's no way that his new feelings could be reciprocated - right?

My Opinion: This was a really cute read.  Though perhaps a bit predictable and shallow, the story was fun none-the-less.  The main characters had a fun interaction, though I felt like Logan didn't need much convincing.  The romance had some good scenes and was fast-paced.  They had a complicated relationship which seemed to be the driving force behind the story.  The side characters, and the show itself, seemed to be a blur behind the main characters.  I had hoped for some more action in that aspect, but it set a good backdrop nonetheless.  Again, I would have liked more conflict and drama, as most reality dating shows deliver, but it was still a fun read.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
