Speaking of Love

Ophelia London
Contemporary Romance

"Plus, if he did what he felt like doing to her, it would smudge her makeup."

Mackenzie Simms and Rick Duffy come from different worlds.  An outspoken, community rights defender and school teacher with a reporter turned millionaire tycoon - they couldn't be more different.  But, they happen to be just what each other needs - an easy go-to date with no strings attached.  But when Mackenzie starts to want those strings, she decides it's time to find someone else for Rick.  She could never fit into his world, even if it weren't for the history between their fathers.  Rick decides to go along with a double date set up, though he doesn't know why Mackenzie seems so set on a change.  Because as they spend more time together, he finds he doesn't want anyone else.  Does he?

My Opinion: I felt that though this book had some fun scenes, it was missing a real strength to its plot.  I found myself a little annoyed at both main characters for their immaturity, seeing little legitimacy in what was keeping them apart.  Their romance was a little borderline in its intensity on the page.  The few side characters were shallow and barely there, just enough to foil the main characters when needed.  Overall it was a predictable romp with some hot and heavy kissing and not too much else.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
