Inadmissible: Love

Donna Wright
Contemporary Romance
Book 1 in Tennessee Love Series

"She could please her mother, Hugh would get a great dinner, and she'd get home before nine."

Danni Price is an up and coming attorney.  The problem is, she is now up in the coming date auction sponsored by her mother.  Not wanting to have dinner with a stranger, she arranges for her co-worker to bid on her.  But their plans go awry when someone else bids him up.  Michael Sommer is intrigued by Danni, despite the fact that they work for firms that seem to oppose each other at every turn.  Including the upcoming case both of them are working on.  But can Michael find a way to make Danni see beyond the courtroom to something more?  With battles in and out of the courtroom, perhaps under it all, they might find love.

My Opinion: This was an interesting concept for a book, and the case created a natural barrier for romance.  Though you are kind of thrown in the deep end at the beginning of the book,  you eventually get to know the characters.  Truth be told, it felt like it was the middle of a series as opposed to the beginning, but perhaps I just took too long to delve into the world the book created.  The romance was cute and cheesy and fun.  I found there to be a lot more emphasis on the case than on a development of characters or overcoming of obstacles.  It was a comedic book that had me laughing at a few points, though.  The case got a little ridiculous, but the characters muddled their way through it and came out satisfactorily, if not changed much.  Overall, a fun, light read, but missing a little in the romance department.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
