Author Interview: Margaret Daley

Margaret Daley
author, Dangerous Pursuit

Give us a bit of your background (where are you from, your family, traveling adventures)

I am a retired special education teacher at the secondary level. I love to teach and write. I have a husband of over forty years and one son and four granddaughters. I love to travel and have been to some beautiful and interesting places. My favorite was Austria, England and Tahiti.

I’m reading Lisa Carter’s book right now called Beneath a Navajo Moon and next I will be reading the latest James Rollins book. He is my favorite author.

Say your publisher has offered to fly you anywhere in the world to do research on an upcoming book, where would you most likely want to go?

To Australia—I’ve wanted to go there for years.

What is your favorite genre to write?

I love to write romantic suspense and to read it the most.

What other things do you have planned with your writing for the next year or so?

I have some out of print books I am going to release and I have a contract with Love Inspired and Love Inspired Suspense to write eight books. I’m also going to write original novellas for Inspy Kisses collection in 2014.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a writer?

Coming up with a compelling plot with great characters to pull off the story.

How much of your personality and life experiences are in your writing?

Every book has a part of me. What I experience, read and see influences what I write.

How many books have you written, and how many of those have been published?

I have written 90 books. I have sold 92 books (7 still to be written).

Please share about your book:

Blurb for Dangerous Pursuit by Margaret Daley:

Reading about danger never prepared Samantha Prince for the desperate phone call from her brother in Brazil that sent her from the safety of her New Orleans bookstore into the rugged, inhospitable Amazon in search of him and a hidden treasure. And reading about romance never prepared Samantha to resist the mysterious appeal of Brock Slader, a guide she hired to help her in her quest.

Alone with Brock in an alien world of orchids and anacondas, primitive headhunters and very up-to-date gunmen, she struggles to keep their relationship strictly business. Will Samantha survive the dangers in the jungle only to have her heart broken by a man who lives on the edge—no strings attached?

If you could sum your main character into five words, what would they be?

Samantha Prince is determined, feisty, a fighter, hard worker, and compassionate.

Use no more than two sentences. Why should we read your book?

This story is African Queen meets Romancing the Stone.
