Facebook Jeanie

Addison Westlake
Contemporary Romance

"But it was a well-known dieting fact that if you substituted ice cream for dinner instead of eating it in addition to dinner, it essentially eliminated your caloric intake."

Clara is stuck.  She hates her government job - it's nothing like the ideals she once had for helping people.  Her boyfriend is gone - does she even really miss him?  She's gained a couple pounds, has a cat that hates her, oh, and she spends every night Facebook stalking her old college boyfriend.  He's incredibly handsome, incredibly successful, and incredibly married to the woman who swooped him up after Clara publicly broke up with him.  Oh, if only she hadn't done that - she'd be as blissfully happy with Brad as Ashley is.  In come Jeanie, an overly peppie girl who offers her the chance of a lifetime - to go back and fix her mistake.  But what will happen when she changes the past?  What could possibly go wrong?

My Opinion: This was a cute and refreshing romance novel that makes you feel good about life along with love.  Clara is hilarious and pulls you completely into her world and what she is experiencing at any given minute.  The book even threw me for a loop in the middle, taking a delightful turn towards the realistic and practical amid the magic of the book.  With an almost Dickens-like feel to the message, I was happily entranced with this book.  The side characters were fun and re-created their world over and over.  I must disclaim, there is one scene, that though not explicit at all, would make me not loan it to a teenager.  Since it's not aimed at that age group, that shouldn't be a problem.  I would, however, recommend this to any adult, especially one who needs a little pick-me-up, a little fun, or a good laugh.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.

  1. This sounds like a cute story. I love the Christmas Carol vibe.
