Bikers and Pearls

Vicki Wilkerson
Contemporary Romance

"But how her pleasts and pearls were going to fit in with all the rivets and leather she didn't know exactly."

April Church has managed to keep her past, and the bikers who were in it, mostly out of her life.  That is, until she meets Bullworth Clayton and suddenly has to work with the leather-clad group on a charity that is dear to her heart.  Now, faced with working closely with a devestatingly handsome reminder of the tragedy in her past, April put her prejudices aside for the sake of a sick little boy.  And she must fight her attraction for the sake of her heart.  Bullworth likes the April, but her country-club attitude is what caused his mother so much pain in the past.  For the sake of a little boy he won't turn his back on, he works with her, and finds himself trying to tempt her to don leather and ride with him.  But can he break into her heart?

My Opinion: This was a cute and sweet story.  The characters were all well created and made a nice, full story and backdrop.  I did, often, feel like there was more to the backstory that wasn't explained, like her dedication to the little boy, and exactly what happened with her father.  Nevertheless, the story flowed fairly well and created believable characters.  They dealt with some serious issues in the story, as the characters strove to get through them all.  At points, the story lagged, but otherwise it was a light dance through an ugly world, where love comes out on top.  A sweet read.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
