Ethan's Bride

Margaret Desmond
Contemporary Romance
Book #1 in King's Valley Romance Series

"Who taught you how to drive?  Mr toad?"

Jessica has always gone along with what she should be doing.  She's the perfect everything.  That is, until she can't stomach saying 'I do' to a man who is anything but perfect.  But her flight from the alter finds her broken down on a lonely road.  That is until she meets a man who accuses her of setting her up as a joke, and his sweet grandmother who insists on taking her in until her car can be fixed.  Despite Ethan's brusque exterior, Jessica finds herself taken in by his grandmother and slowly drawn to his own charm.  Ethan wants nothing to do with those who are rich and feel like that makes them better than others.  When Jessica shows up in a fancy car on a day he'd rather not remember beautiful, rich women, he sets himself against her.  But Jessica is like no one he's ever met.  Can they bridge their differences?

My Opinion: This was a totally sweet little book.  With fun characters and a super, sugary sweet plot, it was a great dip into a quick romance.  The main characters fell in love naturally and sweetly, though they didn't seem to have a lot of flaws.  Everything fell into place in a way you enjoy on a wintry night in front of a fire and a book in hand, but without the depth of an in depth read.  The setting seemed a bit off and unresearched (for one who grew up in that area), but otherwise it was a well created world for the couple to find themselves in.  Overall a sweet romance.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
