Lady Outlaw

Stacy Henrie
Historical Romance
Christian Romance

"No charming, would-be cowboy was worth losing her ranch."

Jennie Jones needs to find a way to save her family's ranch now that her father has passed.  But despite their hard work, ends simply won't meet and their loan is being called in.  Desperate, Jennie seizes on the only opportunity she sees - robbing stage bandits.  That's not wrong, to steal from thieves, right?  Especially if it will save her family.  Such justification might work, until Jennie meets handsome stranger Caleb Johnson.  Caleb needs a new start from his life as a bounty hunter.  With just a little more money he will be able to settle down into a new life and forget the past.  But there is something about Jennie that draws him into her world.  But he might find that he doesn't like what he finds.  Will they be forced to choose between the futures they planned and a future together?

My Opinion: This was a fun and exciting story.  Nicely set in a quiet, old west town (though Utah isn't really part of the "Old West"), you are pulled into the minds, lives and personalities of all involved in this story.  The characters were strong and each had their own well-developed growth and arcs.  The romance was sweet and slow and realistic.  Nicely rounded side characters filled the story in and pulled the reader onto the ranch itself.  There was a slight tinge of the Christian slant, but it wasn't too overwhelming.  Plenty of excitement kept you on your toes and turning pages.  I kept rooting for a way for everything to turn out well in the end and I ended satisfied.  This book is one to have a little fun and escapism with.

I received a free copy of this book to review.  No other compensation was given.  The summary and review are 100% my own.
